CA-70 to UPRR
Additional work was required on this segment of levee to achieve the 200-year flood protection goal. During earlier construction of the Yuba levee remediation project, it was observed that several areas on the waterside slope of this levee segment did not meet the required 3:1 slope (a slope equal to 3 horizontal feet for every vertical foot).
Approximately 3,050 feet of slope is being reshaped to meet the current standard, which is a requirement of both the US Army Corps of Engineers and the California Department of Water Resources. Erosion resistant mulch containing grass seed will be sprayed over the reshaped areas.
